Perimenopause & Menopause Coaching | IMHMO
Coral Edwards sorting roadmap cards at her desk

You can't lead from a place you don't know exists. Before you can mother, partner, lead, or make a decision that's actually yours — you have to know your own values, your own signals, your own capacity. These are the offerings for the moments that tend to break that open.

The part nobody prepared you for.

Everyone wants to talk about the visible stuff — the flashes, the flushes, the things you can point to. Nobody’s talking about the exhaustion that doesn’t lift, the nights you’re wide awake for no reason, the estradiol crash that makes you feel unmoored in your own skin, the gynecologist who tells you you’re too young for this to be perimenopause when your body is telling you something completely different.

This isn’t a body problem with a few uncomfortable symptoms. It’s a full identity shift — hormonal, emotional, existential.

What it means, underneath the symptoms.

We’re not managing symptoms here — that’s a doctor’s job, and you may need one who actually listens. The work is what happens around and underneath the symptoms: what it means, psychologically, to watch your fertility end — even if you’re done having kids, even if you never wanted them, even if you’re relieved. Your nervous system doesn’t necessarily know the difference between “I chose this” and “this is happening to me.”

Learning to trust yourself again when your body and your hormones feel like strangers. Making room to be furious and grieving and hopeful, sometimes in the same hour, without deciding you’re broken for feeling all of it.

The logistics

Sessions are twice-monthly, 60 minutes, over Zoom, with async support by email or text in between. We build a rough roadmap early on, and once our work together concludes, I compile it into a field guide that’s yours to keep. Sessions don’t expire — anything banked just carries forward. No cancellation fees, no late fees, no penalty for rescheduling last-minute. This coaching space is a supportive, compassionate, spacious container for your growth, not one more thing on your calendar you have to perform punctuality for.

The short version

Think of it like a car. You’re driving — you decide where we go, when to turn, when to speed up or slow down or stop or even go back for a while. I’m in the passenger seat with the map. I might suggest we go left instead of right, or ease off the gas. We check the rearview mirror sometimes, because your history holds real information, but most of the journey is spent looking in the windshield, not the rearview mirror. Coaching facilitates growth the way an architect builds something new on an existing foundation. Most of what’s true about you is still there; we’re building on it, not digging it up.

No fixed curriculum

Every client’s journey is unique, and uniquely their own — I don’t run a fixed program or a single curriculum. Some models I find myself reaching for often: the Drama Triangle, the Bridges Transition Model, Internal Family Systems–informed work, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, the GROW model, and Co-Active coaching principles. Which ones show up, and how much, depends entirely on what’s actually true for you.

Why I do this work

I’m Coral Edwards, founder of IMHMO and an ICF-credentialed, evidence-based, trauma-informed coach — and I’m in it right now. Praying to the prescription gods that my patch is in stock. Wading through a sea of male physicians until I found a provider who actually took me seriously. Having the gnarliest hot flash of my life at PetSmart last week, holding a hermit crab while my eight-year-old whined about his sister taking forever in the bathroom, all while I was quite literally melting in place. The rage tornadoes. The fatigue paired with a total inability to sleep at night.

I know this transition from the inside, which is exactly why I built a coaching practice for the part of it nobody prepares you for — the identity part, not just the symptom list. If you’re in it right now, know that while this transition is gnarly, our work together can provide groundedness, clarity, and spacious support. You’re not in it alone, it won’t be forever, and you can grow through it.

A chemistry call is a good place to start if you want support that actually sees the whole picture.
